Thomas A. (Tad) Davis, 75, of Mexico, died at 8:40 p.m., Thursday, May 9, 2019, at University Hospital  in Columbia.

Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. followed by a memorial service led by Michael Southard on Saturday, May 18, 2019, at Pickering Funeral Home. Inurnment will be at a later date at Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville, Mo.

Thomas was born June 17, 1943, in Seattle, Washington. He was preceeded in death by his parents  Sallie (Hill) and Roy S. Harper. On June 24, 1983, he married Sharon Bishop, who survives at the home.

He was a veteran of the US Air Force. He had worked as a supervisor at A.P. Green Refractories. He was a former member of Mexico Optimist Club and he had served as a board member of Arthur Hills Golf Course. He enjoyed golfing (achieving four hole in ones), bowling and early morning coffee with his friends.

In addition to his wife, Sharon, survivors include one son, David Lipscomb (Delores) of Huntsville; one daughter, Dana Southard (Michael) of Jefferson City; one brother, Kenneth Dale Davis (Nancy) of Winsboro, SC; five grandchildren, Paige Jefferson (Korey) of Jefferson City, Samantha Burton (Matthew) of Huntsville, Corbin Lipscomb (Emily) of Jefferson City, and Dallas and Dillon Southard of Jefferson City; five great grandchildren, Mavis, Nala, Koda and Cleo Jefferson, and Rayden Lipscomb; and one niece, Joanna Douglass (Brooks) of Jackson, TN.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be given to the Wounded Warriors Project. They may be sent in care of Pickering Funeral Home, 403 N. Western, Mexico, MO 65265.
