Nancy Griffith Roe, born March 29, 1947 in Mexico to Marvin and Olinda (Mueller) Griffith, died Saturday, May 18, 2019 at Boone Hospital.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, May 22nd at 10:00 a.m. at St. Brendan Catholic Church with burial to follow at St. Brendan Cemetery. Visitation is Tuesday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Arnold Funeral Home with a Prayer Service at 7:45 p.m.
Nancy was a 1965 graduate of Mexico High School and later attended college at Central Missouri State University. During that time she toured Europe and studied abroad.
During her lifetime, Nancy owned and operated three flower shops, worked for the American Cancer Society, Pin Oaks Nursing Home, was the administrator at King’s Daughters Home and later sold real estate for Coldwell Banker and later independently until she retired in 2014.
She was an active member of St. Brendan Catholic Church where she assisted with the Ladies of St. Brendan. She was active in the American Cancer Society, Mexico High School Class of 1965, the Kappa MU chapter of Beta Sigma Phi, Miss Missouri and Compassionate Friends.
On Sept. 5, 1989 she married John Roe and he survives at the family home. She is also survived by a daughter Emily denHartog and her husband Jerry of Minnesota; a step-daughter Whitney (Jon) Hagedorn of Arkansas; a sister Jo Ann (Don) Bishop of Mexico; and six grandchildren, Andy and Cassie Hagedorn, Danielle Steele, Alexander, Isabella, and Ethan England.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter Melissa denHartog; two sisters, Pat Brown and Doris Bates; and two brothers, Marvin and Donald Griffith.
Nancy was dearly loved by her friends and family and will be missed by those she touched with her kindness and compassion.
