James Robert “Bob” Wyss, 86, of Mexico, died Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at Monroe Manor in Paris, MO.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at Arnold Funeral Home with burial to follow in Elmwood Cemetery.  Visitation is Saturday from 12:00 – 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Bob was born in Mexico on May 10, 1933, the son of Paul and Ida (Boeger) Wyss.  He married Carol Bartolacci on Feb. 14, 1960 in Mexico and she survives at the family home.

He worked for Kaiser’s and later National Refractories from 1961 until his retirement in 1998.  He enjoyed camping, trout fishing, and hunting.

In addition to his wife Carol, he is survived by a daughter Lynn (Gilbert) Cox of Mexico; a son Steven Wyss of Joplin; a grandson Joshua (Amanda) Wyss of Mexico; a great-grandson Jack Wyss; a brother-in-law Delbert Fox of Plains, KS and a sister-in-law Nancy Wyss of Mexico.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, George, Walter, and Bill Wyss and two sisters, Frankie Stubblefield and Dorothy Fox.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in care of Arnold Funeral Home.
