Eric Joseph Lierheimer, 53, of Mexico passed away on June 11, 2019 in his home after a brave battle with pancreatic cancer.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 15, at Arnold Funeral Home with Bob Stanford officiating. Burial will follow in East Lawn Memorial Park.

Visitation is from 4-7 p.m. on Friday, June 14, at the funeral home.

Eric was born on June 28, 1965 in Rush Hill, the son of Bill Lierheimer and Shirley (Babb) Steinman. He married Jane Fuemmeler on June 10, 1988 in Mexico and they had three daughters.

Eric received his trucking license in Springfield when he was twenty-one years old and owned Lierheimer Transportation for fourteen years and drove for thirty-two years.

Eric loved hunting, fishing, shooting trap and spending time with his family. He was a life member of the NRA and enjoyed going to all the banquets. His other enjoyments included cheering on his favorite team, Kansas City Chiefs, and finding joy in country living.

Eric’s survivors include his wife, Jane Lierheimer of the home; three daughters: Elizabeth (Kyle) Culbertson of Mexico, Emilie (Alec) Landrum of Mexico, and Leigha Lierheimer of Mexico; four grandchildren: Kimber and Erika Culbertson of Mexico and Oliver and Carter Landrum of Mexico. Eric is also survived by his mother, Shirley (Ben) Steinman of Mexico; four brothers and one sister, Mike Lierheimer of Mexico, Dennis (Lisa) Lierheimer of Beardstown, IL, Mark Lierheimer of Mexico, Jeff (Wendy) Lierheimer of Mexico, and Deborah (Dennis) Anderson of Mexico; and several nieces and nephews.

Eric was preceded in death by his father, Bill Lierheimer; and his grandparents, Charles and Nelle Lierheimer and James and Mary Babb.
