Willie Mae Tate, at the age of 85, made her transition on Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at The Bluffs Senior Living Home in Columbia, Missouri.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 10th at 11:00 a.m. at Second Missionary Baptist Church in Mexico, Missouri.  Visitation is Wednesday from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the church. Burial will be at Beggs Cemetery in Beggs, OK at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 12, 2019.

Willie Mae was born October 28, 1933 to Dolly McGriff and Willie Collier, Jr. of Beggs, Oklahoma.

Willie Mae was united in holy matrimony to Basil Anthony Tate, Sr. in Crawford, Arkansas on October 23, 1950. They resided in Beggs, Oklahoma for a number of years until they decided to move to a farm in Auxvasse, Missouri. With this union seven children were born.

Willie Mae was preceded in death by her parents, Dolly and Willie Collier, Jr.; one sister, Ethel Collier; three brothers, Leroy Collier, Arte Collier, and James Collier; a son, Basil Tate, Jr.; and a great-grandchild, Xavion Bryant.

Willie Mae is survived by four sons, Leroy (Rochelle) Tate of Windsor, California, Charles (Carolyn) Tate of Shorewood, Illinois, Fred (Mary) Tate of Stone Mountain, Georgia, Harold Lee Tate of Auxvasse, Missouri; two daughters, Dr. Betty (Rev. Kevin) Veasy of McKinney, Texas and Barbara (Danny) Richmond of Lawton, Oklahoma; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, along with a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
