The postseason features its fair share of close games, and the Mexico boys couldn't thrive Wednesday in an area that often decides those contests. The Bulldogs struggled at the free throw line to fall short 66-62 to conference foe Kirksville in the Class 4 District 8 tournament semifinals in Moberly, bringing Mexico's final record to 18-10.
Jordan Shelton, Anthony Shivers and Dante Kelley played their final games as Bulldogs. Shelton led Mexico with 19 points and grabbed eight rebounds.
