A motorcycle passenger received minor injuries during a collision with a vehicle on Saturday.
Misty Merriman, 22 of Mexico, was treated at Audrain Community Hospital and released. De’Shon Fountain, also 22 of Mexico, who was piloting the Kawasaki, did not require hospital care.
The incident occurred around 5 p.m. in the 500 block of Muldrow. Mexico Public Safety Department officers found that Betty Atterberry, age 78 of Fulton, was travelling north in the inner northbound lane in a 2007 Chrysler. Atterberry attempted a right turn into a private drive and struck the motorcycle, which was travelling north in the outer northbound lane.
Merriman received minor injuries and was taken to Audrain Community Hospital by Audrain Ambulance District. Fountain and Merriman were both wearing helmets.
