After back-to-back games of one-run outputs and three straight losses, the Community R-6 offense showed up in a big way on senior night.
The Lady Trojans tallied 10 hits, including six that went for extra bases, in a 14-2 win against Central Activities Conference foe Madison, giving them their seventh straight victory against the Lady Panthers.
Five Lady Trojans each picked up an extra base hit, with Brooklynn Glasgow finishing 4-for-4 with two RBI, a triple and a double. Senior Ivy Hays had three RBI, and fellow senior Sarah Angel scored three runs despite going 0-for-3 — reaching base on two errors and a hit by pitch. Rylee Rafferty, Jocelyn Curtis and senior Olivia Kuda each finished with two RBI.
Curtis struck out five and allowed two hits in her five innings in the circle against Madison (2-15, 0-4 CAC).
Community (7-10, 4-3 CAC) is the No. 5 seed Saturday in the Paris Softball Tournament and will play No. 4 seed South Shelby at 10:30 a.m.
