Summer is in the air and Mexico’s Fairgrounds Aquatic Center is gearing up for its encore season.
Set to open Saturday, May 28, workers are busy getting everything in order.
Daily hours of operation are Monday-Friday, from 12 noon to 4:30 p.m. and Saturday-Sunday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Complementing the opening has been the Splash Pad, which has already opened and is accessible to the public. As temperatures climbed last week, it proved to be the place to be.
Season passes are available, with individuals for $150. Additionally, 10-pack admission tickets are available for $45. Regular admission costs are $5 for ages 5 and up and kids 3 and under are free.
Fitness classes are also offered at the center, with Adult Aqua Fin Fitness and Aquacise will be on Thursdays starting June 16; Adult Fin Class, 10:30-11:30 a.m.; and Aquacise, 5:30 – 6:30 p.m.
“We offer a private deck space rental for 90-minute blocks for $50 during the week,” said Seth Cooke, Mexico Parks and Recreation supervisor. ”On Saturday or Sunday, the space can be rented in 90-minute blocks for $50 or the space can be rented all day for $125 on the weekend only.”
