Coming up a year from now, the Audrain County Historical Society and the City of Mexico Tourism will host its 19th annual Walk Back in Time.
The event will take place September 22-24 in 2023 at the Audrain Historical Museum Complex, 501 South Muldrow, as the event continues to evolve yearly.
The accompanying press release announced that next year the focus will be Wild West Aviation and Veterans “everywhere.”
The need now is for reenactors and traders and the hope is those who are interested will apply by emailing walkbackachs@gmail.com and tell the organizers that you want to attend, how big your tent is, and how many will be in a group.
The Historical Society will send out newsletters twice in 2023, first in January or February and then again in June, each with more current information.

Other notes
The historical society is having a T-shirt contest and are asking for designs and ideas.
Designs can only be 10 inches wide and 13 inches in height on the front of the shirt - The back is usually reserved for sponsors.
Deadline for entries is March 18, 2023.
Keep in mind the printer typically uses only one or two ink colors and it is suggested that simple can be more effective and identifiable in a design.
“Think about what WBIT means to you or iconic images from the event, stories that encapsulate the festival or connect to historical moments,” the press release stated. “The design selected will have the individual’s name printed on the tee and an article will be profiled in the newspaper. We are hoping to get sponsorship for prize money.
“So, start designing and make sure we receive them by (the deadline).”
