Arrests:
Mexico Public Safety reports the arrest of 20-year-old Tyler E. Brown on Tuesday, Feb. 28, for an Audrain County warrant.
Calls for service:
Mexico Public Safety responded to the following calls for service on Tuesday, Feb. 28:
Property damage at South Morris Street.
A fraud on 907 East Liberty.
Property dispute at the South Jefferson apartment building.
Shoplifting on West Monroe.
Trespassing at 1719 South Clark.
Stealing or theft at 4820 South Clark.
Car accidents:
A two-car accident on Tuesday, Feb. 28, at the intersection of Highway 54 at Liberty. According to the Mexico Public Safety accident report when 43-year-old Melinda Arnold of Mexico was sitting at the intersection waiting for traffic to clear and was rear-ended by a vehicle driven by 56-year-old Steven Thibon of California, MO. No injuries were reported.
A one-car accident on South Clark at Lakeview on Tuesday, Feb. 28. According to the Mexico Public Safety accident report it happened when a vehicle driven by 88-year-old Russell Boswell of Mexico was approaching Lakeview and travelled over the center line and ran off the west side of the road coming to rest in a ditch. Boswell sustained moderate injuries and was transported by ambulance to the University Hospital.
A two-vehicle accident at Taco Bell at 617 West Monroe on Tuesday, Feb. 28. According to the Mexico Public Safety accident report it happened when a vehicle with an unidentified driver was ahead of a vehicle driven by 37-year-old Shannon Borcherding of Mexico in the drive-thru. The first vehicle reversed and collided with Borcherding's vehicle. The vehicle with the unidentified driver then jumped the curb, driving over landscaping and fled the scene of the accident. No injuries were reported.
