Mexico’s Aidan Knipfel picked up another third-place finish on the Missouri Junior Tour.

After tying for third out of 18 golfers June 9 in Moberly, Knipfel finished third among 16-18-year-old boys June 20 in the Missouri Golf Association tournament at The Golf Club at Deer Chase in Linn Creek.

The Mexico golfer shot a 79, or eight-over par, to match the score set by Liberty’s John Walls. Eldon’s Teagen Hull won the tournament after shooting a 76 while Sedalia’s Luke Jenkins was second with a 77.

Knipfel started the front nine with one of five pars within the first seven holes before recording a couple of bogeys to finish with a 40, or four-over par, through nine. The back nine was a mixed bag for him as he sank three birdies on the par five 10th hole, the par four 13th hole and par five 15th hole. He finished the latter nine holes with one bogey but also two triple-bogeys and three pars for a score of 39, or four-over par.

Centralia’s Adam Smith finished 18th after shooting a 108, or 37-over par, after hitting one par.

In the 16-18 girls group, Centralia’s Kennedy Dickerson and ReaLee Smith finished fourth and sixth, respectively, out of seven golfers. Cairo’s Addison Pollard came in seventh.

Dickerson shot a 92, or 21-over par, and Smith had a 97, or 26-over par, to finish behind the winning score of 79, or eight-over par, set by Jefferson City’s Sophie Hinds.

Dickerson started the front nine with four pars and had all bogeys except a birdie on the par five 15th hole. Smith shot four pars while Pollard bogeyed every hole.

Centralia's Dickerson ties for 2nd in Jefferson City, Knipfel 8th

On June 22, the Missouri Junior Tour went through Jefferson City at Oak Hills Golf Center.

In the 16-18 girls group, Centralia’s Kennedy Dickerson tied for second after shooting a 94, or 24-over par. Mexico’s Aidan Knipfel finished eighth in the 16-18 boys group.

Dickerson picked up one par on the par four second hole to finish with a 46, 12-over par, through nine holes before sinking three pars on the back nine for a score of 48, or 12-over par. She finished seven strokes behind winner Camryn Swinfard, of Jefferson City.

Centralia’s ReaLee Smith finished sixth out of the group of seven after shooting a 106.

Knipfel shot an 85, or 15-over par, after collecting one birdie and four pars — all on the back nine. He had nine straight bogeys or worse results through the front nine and on the 10th hole before breaking the streak with four consecutive pars. He made birdie on the par four 18th hole.

Centralia’s Adam Smith finished last out of 15 in the group with a 113. Jefferson City’s Dylan Bryan won with a score of 75, or five-over par.
