The Mexico Lady Bulldogs golf team fielded two medalists as they hosted the North Central Missouri (NCMC) Conference Monday at Arthur Hills Golf Course. Lilly Knipfel continued her winning ways as tourney medalist with a 79; Grace Siegel of Futon was runner-up with a 95.
Mexico’s Kennedi Rowe also medaled in a tie for sixth place with a 106. Morgan Craig shot a 138.
“We had the opportunity to host the conference at Arthur Hills and we are thankful for the support of the course,” said coach, Lindsey Yancey. “The tournament went really smoothly”.
Kirksville was the winning team with a score of 435. Moberly came in second at 469, led by Marin Tadrus, with a 100.
Returning to Arthur Hills the next day, the Lady Dogs competed with Fulton, Moberly and Wright City.
“Tuesday night was more of a struggle all around,” said Yancey.
It was the girls’ last home match of the year and Knipfel came through with the medalist honors again, shooting a 42. Rowe shot a 53; Craig, 67; and Shadora Foy shot a 74.
“I’m so proud of this whole team,” said Yancey. “They have had great attitudes and have represented the community of Mexico with sportsmanship and class.”
The girls will be at Fulton Wednesday Oct. 7.
