Minta R. (James) Wilson, 97, of Mexico, passed from this earth on Saturday, November 26, 2022, at her home.

Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 1, at First Christian Church with Rev. Zane Whorton and Elaine Kuntz officiating. Interment will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery in Paris.

Visitation is Thursday from 1:00 p.m. until time of service at the church.

Minta, the daughter of Bert and Thelma James of Paris was born May 31, 1925, and graduated from Paris High School in 1943. She married her classmate, Lewis Wilson, Jr. in 1948 and they lived on a farm in northern Audrain County. They raised soybeans, corn and milo and operated a cattle feed lot.

Survivors include three children, Warren (Bobbette) Wilson of Thompson and children, Justin, Chris, Catherine, Douglas, Kelly, Audry and Courtney, Carol Kemp (fiancé Heath Tate) of Wedowee, Alabama and her daughter, Kristi, and Kent (Joyce) Wilson of Mexico and their children, Trenton, Nathan, Taylor and Jordan. She is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Wilson was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Wilson, Jr.; one daughter, Lisa Wilson, who died in a car accident in 1983; son-in-law, Rick Kemp; and one grandson, Shawn Kemp.

Minta was a member of Midway Christian Church, serving as pianist. She was a leader in B&G Hustlers 4-H Club, and a member of Friendly Northerners Homemakers Club.
