Skies were blue and sunny and conditions overall favorable as Mexico Military Academy finished fifth in the Mexico Autumn Classic cross country meet Tuesday. Bryson Powell led MMA runners, taking seventh at 18:21.68.
Lucas Sydlewski, 27th (20:32.40); Ryan Miles, 30th (20:46.00); Gerardo Quiroga, 37th (21:19.83); and Malachi Imrie, 52nd (22:33.87) rounded out MMA’s top five.
Also running for MMA was Isaiah Galvan, 55th (22:56.24) and Ethan Zinser, 57th (23:39.11).
MMA edged out Moberly 144-145, followed by Eldon at 147. Helias Catholic ran away with the meet - literally - with a team score of 27, with Mexico taking second at 103.
Yu-jen Tong and Nyeal Biedenstein competed in the junior varsity race, finishing 28th (25:04.95); and 32nd (26:01.79), respectively.
