The North Callaway Thunderbirds will compete in the 2022 South Callaway varsity boys basketball tournament, slated for Monday, Jan. 10 through Saturday, Jan. 15. The tourney’s No. 6 Thunderbirds will square off against the No. 3 Montgomery County Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 11 in the middle school gym. Vienna is the No. 1 seed and will compete against No. 8 New Bloomfield in the night’s first game. Also competing are No. 4 South Callaway, No. 5 New Haven, No. 2 Hermann and No. 7 Calvary Lutheran.
In the girls bracket, the No. 8 Lady Thunderbirds will open against No. 1 Fatima at 6 p.m. Monday night in the high school gym. No. 2 Montgomery plays No. 7 Russellville at 6 p.m. the same night in the middle school gym. Also competing are No. 4 Hermann, No. 5 South Callaway, No. 3 New Haven and No. 6 New Bloomfield.
