The North Callaway Thunderbirds fell to the undefeated Bowling Green Bobcats 56-6 Friday night in Bowling Green. Bowling Green led 50-0 at the half and racked up 358 yards rushing on 36 carries as a team, led by the tandem of Dylan Dalton and Marcus Starks. Dalton had 112 yards and 4 touchdowns on 11 carries; Starks had 128 yards on 16 carries.
The Thunderbirds scored on a fourth quarter 15-yard touchdown pass from Braydn O’Neal to Matthew Webber. The Thunderbirds had 71 yards on 31 carries. O’Neal was 10-for-20 through the airwaves for 140 yards.
Next up, North Callaway (3-2) hosts Wright City.

Mexico fends off Marshall
Brayden Arnold returned a kickoff for six and James Matthews had runs of 50 and 60 yards as the Bulldogs topped the Owls 30-24 at home on Sept. 28.
Two defensive plays helped seal the win. Montrez Johnson stopped one Marshall drive with a red zone interception. Arnold had a pick with 45 seconds left to cap things off.

Callaway loses to Macon
The North Callaway Thunderbirds softball team lost 15-1 to Macon Saturday at the rain-hampered Centralia Tournament. Abigail Schmidt, Ryelle Schmauch and Corynne Miller each had a hit, with Miller scoring the team’s run. Ellie Bedsworth took the loss (0-2). Entering this week’s play, the Thunderbirds were 4-11 overall.

Loyd one-hits Southern Boone
Ace Hannah Loyd gave up one hit and no earned runs in a 6-1 home win over Southern Boone last Wednesday.
She had plenty of help. Eight different Bulldogs recorded base hits, with Kayleigh Samuelson going 2 for 3 on the night. Payton Shaw hit a double.
