Brooklynn Glasgow's fifth inning grand slam put the game out of reach as Community R-6 pounded Mark Twain 17-7.
Sarah Angel opened the fifth with a double to center. She scored on an error that put Olivia Schafer safely on base. Olivia Kuda then smacked one up the middle for a base hit.
Another Mark Twain error put Lydia Forbis on to load the bases for Glasgow's drive.
The Trojans were troubled only once in the game. The visitors scored four in the top of the third to even things up at 5-5.
But Community put five on the board every other inning Monday night.
Down 1-0 in the first, Angel had ignited a rally with a lead off triple. Rylee Rafferty turned the spark into an inferno.
With two down and bases jammed, Rafferty hammered a ball that eluded the right fielder. Kuda scored easily from third, with courtesy runner Kylie Brooks trailing close behind. Paige Painter raced home from first.
Rafferty, who never hesitated around the bases, also crossed the plate -- an inside the park grand slam.
So with the score knotted in the third, another five run outburst was inevitable.
Forbis started things off, knocking a solo homer to center. Two singles and an error later and Brooks came home on a fielder's choice. Rafferty added a run after another Mark Twain misplay.
With two out and more runners on, Schafer drove a double to center, scoring Kayla Jett and Taylor Johnson.
Suddenly the Trojans were out front 10-5.
Glasgow and Rafferty had big nights at the plate. Glasgow went 4 for 4 with a run and 4 RBIs. Rafferty had a 3 for 3 outing, adding 2 runs and 5 runs batted in.
Both, of course, hit salamis.
Angel and Forbis tallied two hit games. Schafer drove in a pair of runs.
Shelby Clark got the win, yielding just 2 earned runs.
