Carol Francis Long, 82, of Mexico, passed away on Tues., March 5, 2024, at her home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. on Tues., March 12, at St. Brendan Catholic Church with Fr. David Veit officiating. Burial will follow in East Lawn Memorial Park.

A Prayer Service will be at 5 p.m. on Monday  at Arnold Funeral Home with a visitation following until 7 p.m.

Carol was born on July 27, 1941, in Mexico, the daughter of Sylvester G. and Frances G. (Deimeke) Borgmeyer. On January 17, 1970, at St. Brendan Catholic Church, she married Thomas O. Long. He passed away on September 18, 2013.

Mrs. Long obtained her C.N.A. in Marceline and later her L.P.N. in Kansas City, which she was for over 50 years. She worked for many years at Pin Oaks and then as an evening charge nurse at the Missouri Veterans Home, retiring after 27 years.

Carol was a member of St. Brendan Catholic Church. She loved to travel, especially going to Europe to visit Rome. She enjoyed tractor pulls and absolutely loved the Kansas City Chiefs. Carol never met a stranger and had been accused many times of being a jokester.

Survivors include one son, Christopher (Trisha) Long of Mexico; two grandchildren, Aubrey Long (Trenton Pepper) of Rush Hill and Kaytlin Long of Mexico; one brother, Ed Borgmeyer of Mexico; and a special friend, Liborius “Borie” Ahrens of Mexico.

Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas O. Long.
