Altrusa International, Inc. of Mexico, met on May 26, at The Oaks at noon for their program meeting. The meeting was called to order by Melanie Utterback followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. Guests were introduced and committee reports were given.
Deann Brooks and her guests were introduced. Deann is one of the recipients of the Altrusa International, Inc. of Mexico, Missouri Foundation scholarships. She is enrolled in State Fair Community College in the Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program.
Plans are underway for the Miss Missouri luncheon. Altrusa members will host the twenty-four Miss Missouri candidates on Wednesday, June 15 at noon at Missouri Military Academy. The Little Libraries will soon be finished and will be located in Mexico and Martinsburg. ASTRA held their last meeting of the school year with one senior graduating from high school.
Two new members were initiated during the meeting. We welcomed Ashley Caldwell and Janis Deimeke.
Officers for 2022-23 were installed by Membership Chair, Rhonda Vitale. President – Roberta Cope; First VP – Judy Kelly; Second VP – Peggy Payne; Past President – Melanie Utterback; Recording Secretary – Kathy Sims; Corresponding Secretary – Rhonda Vitale; Treasurer – Gina Raines; Parliamentarian – Donna Peak; Directors – Jane Duffner and Saunceria Neale.
Members gave “Happy Moments” and recited the benediction to close out the meeting.
New members are always welcome to attend. Meetings are held the second and fourth Thursday of each month at noon at The Oaks.
