Bernard “Keaton” Wheelan

Bernard “Keaton” Wheelan, age 70, of Paris, passed away Saturday, November 4, 2023 at the Monroe Manor in Paris.

Keaton was born on March 23, 1953 in Paris, the son of Bernard Wheelan and Priscilla Burnam. Keaton worked at Sydenstricker’s as a sales representative for 40 years. He was an avid Civil War enthusiast and enjoyed metal detecting, collecting arrowheads, and woodworking. He is also known for living in and restoring the oldest house in Monroe County.

He is survived by his daughter, Danielle Wheelan of Colo.; siblings, Michele Dooley of Lenexa, Kan., Patrice Petrich of Hawaii, Heather Watson of Paris, and Shelton Wheelan (Wendy) of Paris;  and many nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.

He is preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Garry Dooley.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Fri., Nov. 10, 2023 at the Agnew Funeral Home in Paris. Burial will follow the funeral service in the Walnut Grove Cemetery in Paris. Family suggests memorials be made to the First Baptist Legacy Hall or the Monroe County Cancer Supporters.
