Bulldogs have two medal in home tennis tournament

The Mexico boys welcomed North Central Missouri Conference foes Moberly and Fulton and unknown foes Potosi and Class 3 Lafayette (Wildwood) to the Fairgrounds Park Netplex on Friday.

From 8:30 a.m. to about 2 p.m., Mexico hosted its first home boys tennis tournament in more than 20 years, head coach Tony Senor said, and had two medal. Returning state medalist Brendan McKeown finished second in No. 1 singles with a 3-1 record, and Boston Davolt was third in No. 2 singles with a 2-2 record.

No. 1 doubles pairing Brixton Goerne and Carter Blackburn and No. 2 pairing Trevor Wright and Skylar Shaw each finished 0-4 in their respective brackets.
