The Mexico boys wrestled to a 57-18 dual loss to Class 1 No. 3 Centralia on Friday at Mexico Middle School, but the senior did win his match over Marshall Kable 3-1 at 285 pounds.
The Bulldogs had victories come from Carlos Juarez Ramirez, Watson Azdell and Evan Wilson as well. Juarez Ramirez defeated third state-ranked Bryson Dubes at 106 via a 12-3 major decision, Azdell won at 132 via pinfall and Evan Wilson won by a 17-2 technical fall at 138.
Centralia's lineup full of state-ranked wrestlers collected victories, though, including the top-ranked 157-pound wrestler Rex Bryson when he bested Grant Van Horn in a 5-3 decision in a battle between state medalists. Fifth-ranked 144-pound Weston Ward pinned Kyler Carr, second-ranked 165-pound Wyatt Adkisson pinned Isai Hernandez and sixth-ranked 150-pound Louis Suddarth pinned Evin Ford.
The Panthers took advantage of three opens and had wins coming from Coulton Baker at 175 over Grant Walker, Dalton Kroeger at 190 over Jayden Hodge and Waylon Adkisson at 113 over Brayden Arnold.
