Gabriel C. Pettit, 40, of Centralia, sustained serious injuries in a one-vehicle accident Monday, May 10 on eastbound Highway 54 .5 miles north of Audrain County Road 844.
The accident occurred when Pettit lost control of his 2014 Harley Davidson Electra Glide, traveling off the left side of the roadway and overturning. Pettit was ejected; he was not wearing a safety device.
Pettit was taken to University Hospital, Columbia, by ambulance. Time of the accident was 5:10 p.m. The motorcycle was totaled and towed from the scene.
