Charley Lewis Leach, 95, of Mexico, passed away on Friday, December 1, 2023, at Pin Oaks Nursing Center.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wed., Dec. 6, at Arnold Funeral Home. Burial will follow at East Lawn Memorial Park.

Visitation will be on Wed., Dec. 6, from 1 p.m. until time of services at the funeral home.

Mr. Leach was born on June 12, 1928 in Mountain Grove, the son of Jesse and Ona (Long) Leach.  On May 1, 1948 he married Darlene Davis in Mexico.  She passed away December 13, 2020 after 72 years of marriage.

Charley enjoyed spending time hunting, fishing and watching birds at the bird feeders.  He also was a coin collector and enjoyed gardening.  First and foremost, he was a family man.  Charley was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather.  He was an outgoing person with a strong sense of humor.  When you saw Charley, he always had a smile on his face.

Survivors include three children, Charley Jr. (Nancy) Leach of Moses Lake, Wash.,  Linda (Jerry) Hembree of Warden, Wash, Vicky (Steve) Pierson of Mexico; one sister, Rosemary Stevens of Idaho; one brother, George Leach of Centralia; nine grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, 17 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Charley was preceded in death by his wife, Darlene; one grandson, Michael Elliott; one great-great-granddaughter, Brooklyn Elliott (infant); four brothers, Everett Leach, Oscar Leach, Fred Leach and Norman Leach; three sisters, Ellen Keith, Agnes Lucas and Ola Mae Erwin.

The family requests memorial donations be made to Pin Oaks Nursing Center Activity Fund.  Memorials may be sent in care of Arnold Funeral Home, 425 S. Jefferson, Mexico, Mo. 65265.
