The Lady Trojans opened the Class 1 District 9 tournament at Blair Oaks in Wardsville with a 59-38 win over Calvary Lutheran, hitting 15-of-19 free throws.
“That is huge for us as we have been very inconsistent at the line so to shoot it that well Monday night was awesome,” head coach Bob Curtis said. “Steals that led to run out layups were huge as we had 12 points off turnovers for buckets in transition.”
Community (16-10) scored 21 points in the fourth quarter and had three score in double figures, including Kylie Brooks with 14 points and 11 rebounds, Brooklynn Glasgow had 13 points and four steals, and Alyssa Beamer finished with 12 points. Peyton Beamer added nine points and five assists.
