Good things came in threes for Community R-6 softball Thursday night.
The Lady Trojans hit three triples to score at least four runs in three straight innings at Hermann, winning 15-0 and setting a season-high for runs. Jocelyn Curtis went 2-for-3 with two RBI and a triple, Olivia Kuda was 1-for-4 with three RBI, three runs and a triple and Ivy Hays finished 2-for-3 with four RBI and a triple.
Community took a 2-0 lead after one inning that was sparked by a leadoff bunt base hit for Sarah Angel. No bunting was necessary in a four-run third inning as Curtis scored Kuda to highlight the inning.
Kuda then did as Curtis before and tripled to bring home Brooklynn Glasgow, who finished 3-for-4 with three runs scored.
The Lady Trojans had a 10-0 lead after four innings that turned into 15-0 after a Taylor Johnson single scored Hays, who tripled in two runs in the previous at-bat.
Curtis was unhittable in the circle through five innings as she surrendered one hit and struck out five.
Community moves to 2-1 and plays its second Central Activities Conference game at 5 p.m. Tuesday at Pilot Grove.
