Centralia gains distance off Mexico misses in 27-0 win
Centralia defeated Mexico for the second straight year to start the football season, shutting out the Bulldogs 27-0 on Friday night in Centralia.
Cullen Bennett threw three touchdown passes, including a 61-yard connection with Cayden Dunn on the Panthers' first play from scrimmage and a 63-yard score to Beau Hatton to capitalize off one of three Mexico turnovers.
The Bulldogs lost three fumbles on the night and couldn't score points despite making four trips to Centralia territory in the first half.
Drayden Conde ran for an eight-yard touchdown, and Logan Rosenfelder caught an 11-yard pass from Bennett to round out the scoring.
Mexico hosts Southern Boone (0-1) next Friday night, and Centralia plays at Hallsville (1-0).
