Freda Deimeke

Freda Deimeke, 85, of Martinsburg, passed away on Saturday, November 25, 2023, at Teal Lake Assisted Living in Mexico.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Martinsburg with Father Derek Hooper officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the church.

Freda was born on June 12, 1938, in Council Bluffs, Iowa. She was the daughter of Amos Booher and Geneva Ruth Hublitz. Freda grew up in Wright City. On July 12, 1958, in Truesdale, she married Cletus Deimeke. Together they farmed most of their married lives. She was a loving wife, a caring mother and grandmother.

Freda was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Ladies Sodality. She loved gardening, thrift stores, garage sales, flea markets, and playing bingo. She also served as an election judge in Audrain County for 40 years, and a Khoury League softball coach.

Survivors include her husband, Cletus, two sons, Kevin (Darla) Deimeke, Martinsburg, and Kent (Lori) Deimeke, Auxvasse; daughter, Kelli (Sam) Turner, Montgomery City; brother, Harold Booher, Valley Park; sister, Norma (Neal) Ordelheide, Wright City; brother-in-law, Carl Deimeke, Phoenix, Ariz.; sister-in-law, Deann Deimeke, Maryland Heights; seven grandchildren,  Joshua (Melissa) Deimeke, Nicki (Justin) Poindexter, Benjamin (Kayla) Deimeke, Martinsburg, Dakota (Michelle) Smith, Columbia, Casey Turner, Tigard, Ore., Ethan Deimeke, Columbia, Gabrielle Deimeke, Austin, Texas; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by both her and Cletus’s parents; one grandson, Clinton Deimeke; sister, Sharlett Lockhart; brother-in-law, Leon A. Deimeke; sister-in-law, Cathy Deimeke; and niece, Tracy Ordelheide.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be given to the Clint Deimeke Outdoor Foundation. They may be sent in care of Myers Funeral Home, 203 E. Bates, Wellsville, MO 63384.
