James Troy Blacklock, 86, died on Monday, September 4, 2023 at his home in Windsor Valley near Williamsburg, Mo.

James Troy Blacklock was born on August 28, 1937 in Fulton.  He was the son of Troy and Pauline Blacklock.

Jim was married on August 5, 1962 to Niki Windsor Blacklock, and she preceded him in death on April 20, 2018. They were married for 55 wonderful years.

Jim graduated from Fulton High School and earned a Masters Degree in Physical Education from the former Northeast Missouri State Teachers College in Kirksville. He was a teacher and coach for 30 years at St. Joseph Central High School, Jefferson City High School, North Callaway High School, and Montgomery County High School. Jim also worked alongside his wife and family for 30 years in their auction business, Blacklock Auction Service.

Jim was honored to be inducted into the Missouri Football Coaches Association Hall of Fame, the Truman State University Athletic Hall of Fame, and the Fulton High School Wall of Fame.

Jim was a member of Mineola Baptist Church. He enjoyed family fishing trips and traveling, especially “day tripping” with Niki. He was a founding member of the Crane’s Store Liars Club...“and that’s the truth!”

Jim is survived by two sons, Kelly Blacklock and his wife, Tina; Kurt Blacklock and his wife, Melanie; and by one daughter, Kerry Ecton and her husband, Mike.  Jim is also survived by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

Jim wished to convey a special message of thanks to the ladies at the dialysis clinic who took good care of him for five years during dialysis treatment.
