The Mexico girls could only cut the deficit down to 12 after falling behind 24-8 after the first quarter on Tuesday night. The Lady Bulldogs lost their home opener to Silex 56-36 to fall to 0-2 before the Thanksgiving break. The Lady Owls finished with 25 steals and forced Mexico into many mistakes with aggressive defense.

Claire Hudson led the way for Mexico with 15 points, nine rebounds and two steals, Jo Thurman followed with six points and three steals, Hannah Loyd had five points and five rebounds, and Grace Hudson added five points. For Silex, Maddie Isom finished with 20 points and hit three 3-pointers, Austyn Van Horn followed with nine points, and Kenzee James matched that total and had two 3-pointers.

"Tonight, we got behind quick and we struggled to realize that we could overcome it," Mexico head coach Makenzie Mudd said. "We made silly mistakes because we weren't taking our time and doing what we know how to do. They've got the ability (to handle the press). They just made a mistake, we'd panic, we wouldn't stop, slow down, control the ball and control the tempo. We let their speed and their energy take over."
