Despite the arctic air outside, the Centralia girls were hot inside on Tuesday in Boonville.
The Lady Panthers knocked down eight 3-pointers for a 42 percent clip from 3-point territory and a 41 percent overall shooting performance in a 60-49 victory over Boonville. Raegan Anderson led the way with a team-high 18 points and went 6-for-8 on 3-pointers.
Braylin Brunkhorst matched Anderson’s 18 points and also had seven rebounds and four assists, and Shelby Lewis finished with eight points and 15 rebounds.
Centralia, who received votes in the most recent Class 3 state poll, outrebounded Boonville (11-3), who received votes in the latest Class 4 poll, 40-25 and had a 13-6 offensive-rebound advantage to outscore them 14-4 on second-chance points.
Bella Imhoff led Boonville with 17 points, and Zoe Davis followed with 15 points.
On Thursday at home, the Centralia girls defeated Linn (7-7) 53-27. The Lady Panthers (11-3) were led by Lewis’ double-double of 13 points and 11 rebounds, Brunkhorst’s 13 points and five rebounds, and Anderson’s eight points.
The Centralia boys lost 65-57 to Boonville (9-7) after the Pirates had three score in double figures. The Panthers moved back to 500 at 7-7 with a 68-32 victory on Wednesday at Fayette (2-9), led by 16 points from Noah Kropf and 12 points from Logan Rosenfelder.
