The Community R-6 girls are rolling into the sectional round for the eighth time in the 10 years. The Lady Trojans' 10th consecutive district title game appearance resulted in a 56-50 victory against Wellsville-Middletown in the Class 1 District 10 championship game on Saturday in Madison.
Sarah Angel led with 20 points and four steals, Olivia Kuda followed with 12 points and 15 rebounds, Alyssa Beamer had 10 points (all in the third quarter), and Kayla Jett finished with nine points off the bench.
Community plays at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Salisbury against the District 9 champion, either St. Elizabeth or Pilot Grove.
