Medical building to hold grand opening Tuesday

The new MU Health Care South Clark Medical building is set to hold a grand opening event at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, according to Eric Maze, manager and public relations for MU Health Care.

This follows the new MU Health Care Urgent Care facility that opened last month.

The ceremonial event will take place beginning at 9:45 a.m.

“We’ll have several speakers from MU Health Care, a ribbon cutting ceremony,”

Maze said. “MU Health Care’s Family Medicine Clinic in Mexico provides primary care for the entire family, and Mizzou Urgent Care in Mexico offers care seven days per week for urgent, non-life-threatening conditions, and can provide X-rays, lab services, breathing treatments, IV hydration and medications, and services for asthma and respiratory infections.

“These are the same services provided at Mizzou Urgent Care in Columbia.”
This location will provide access to medical care for all ages in Audrain County.
Maze said that this opening is a big deal for MU Health Care and for the people of Audrain County.

“What’s especially exciting is that both of our family medicine providers, many of our staff and some of our urgent care providers call Audrain County home,” Maze said. “It may be a new sign on the South Clark building, but many of the faces inside the building will be familiar to local patients.”

The MU Health Care family medicine clinic opened to patients on July 18 and the Urgent Care in Mexico opened on August 16.

“Both clinics are already busy and fully functioning,” Maze said. “The grand opening next Tuesday is a ceremonial event designed to signify MU Health Care’s commitment to the community and to ensure continued local access to high quality health care.

“I don’t have patient numbers, but we are very pleased by the response to our services so far.”
