During the early morning hours of Friday, June 30, Audrain County Sheriff’s Deputies, and members of the Missouri State Highway Patrol served arrest warrants in the 1000 block of Carrico Street in Mexico.

As a result of the arrest warrant execution, Scott E. Whitehurst, 46, of Mexico, was arrested on 12 outstanding felony and misdemeanor arrest warrants for failure to appear and probation violations. The arrest warrants were for the original offenses of felony second degree assault, misdemeanor domestic assault in the fourth degree, delivery of a controlled substance, multiple counts of driving while revoked, multiple counts of possession of a controlled substance, keeping or maintaining a public nuisance, receiving stolen property, felony resisting arrest, possession of an illegal weapon, multiple counts of unlawful possession of a firearm and multiple traffic violations.

During the arrest, Whitehurst was found in possession of over one-half ounce of methamphetamine and CO2 pistol that had been modified to appear as a real Glock handgun. Additionally, Ssheriff’s deputies sought and obtained consent to search the property and located multiple items of stolen property from a reported March 2023 theft being investigated by the Audrain County Sheriff's Office.

Whitehurst was transported to the Audrain County Jail where is currently being held without bond on the outstanding arrest warrants.
