Mexico School District 59 has announced the hiring of Amber Henderson to be the director of human resources for the district.
Henderson is not new to Mexico Public Schools. She started in 2013 as the secretary in the MMS guidance office. She then moved to central office in the accounts receivable position. During this time, she went back to school to finish her degrees in business administration and human resources, which she received from Columbia College.
In 2017, she accepted the position of business manager for the district. After three years in that role, she had the opportunity to continue her HR career outside of the district. Though school finance was something she loved, HR is her true passion.
Henderson has three children, Alexis, 14, Aleigha, 13, and Ashton, 9.
“I am extremely excited and honored to be coming back to Mexico Public Schools as the HR director,” said Henderson. Mexico is where I grew up, graduated from, and am proud to be a member of this community.”
