Meyers Truck Service honored as Commerce and Industry Award winner

The Mexico Area Chamber of Commerce and the City of Mexico will honor Meyers Truck Service at the 37th Annual Commerce and Industry Dinner on Oct. 25 at Fairytale Estates in Mexico. The event begins with a social from 5:30 – 6 p.m., dinner at 6 and awards to follow.

“The Audrain County community is very fortunate to have Meyers Truck Service. Randy and his team are ready to help each customer as the need arrives whether that is a shop appointment,” 2022 Mexico Area Chamber of Commerce Board president Melanie Utterback said, “or a farm or roadside call. Randy and Patty have made a positive impact on our community with their investment in not only the truck service but also CarQuest. You will also find them supporting area events like the Audrain County 4-H Fair, Audrain County Cattlemen’s and many more.”

Meyers Truck Service specializes in commercial and agricultural equipment service and sales.

They opened Randy’s Diesel Service in March 1997 and purchased Gilmore Implement in September of 2001, changing their name to Meyers Truck Service.

In 2009 they built a new facility at 9562 State Hwy. 15, in Mexico.

Randy’s first experience began when he opened Randy’s Diesel Service at the Becker Brothers Farm north of Mexico. Dennis Becker and his late brother, Phil were instrumental in helping Randy get started. Randy has been in the business for 39 years.

In addition to Meyers Truck Service, they also own seven CarQuest locations and employ 50 people between the eight businesses.

“Not only is Meyers Truck Service vital to our agricultural community, but they are also a strong contributor to the local economy and a strong civic supporter of Mexico,” Mexico’s assistant city manager and director of economic development, Russell Runge said.

Randy moved to Mexico from Ashburn, in 1990 to marry his wife, Patty. They have three sons, Josh (Haley), Randy (Layne) and Ryan, and two grandchildren Mason and Boone who all reside in Mexico.

Audrain County’s rich agriculture has been the driving force behind Meyers Truck Service. That is evident in the many ways Meyers personally and professionally supports 4-H, the FFA, the University of Missouri Extension, the Soybean Festival and county fairs in the area. Randy was one of the members of the Audrain County Fair Board that spearheaded the campaign for donations for the new 4-H building. Meyers also serves on the Board of the Handi Shop, Inc.

“For our area farmers, it is always comforting to know Meyers Truck Service is in the county and ready to help when and if the need arises,” said a spokesperson for the Audrain County Commission. “Of course, while you never want anything to break down, when it does, day or night, they are there to help in any way they can. They are true partners in the community.”

All are encouraged to make reservations with the Mexico Area Chamber of Commerce by email at mexicochamber@mexico-chamber.org or by phone at 573-581-2765.

Deadline for reservations is Friday, Oct. 14 at 5 p.m.
