Mignon Marie Metzger, 80, of Ozark passed away Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2023, at Ozark Riverview Manor after a long battle with dementia.  She openly said she was ready to go home to Jesus and he granted that wish after a short hospice care.

Mignon was born on May 11, 1943. She was born near Mexico,  and was the daughter of Roy and Martha (Towne) Willingham.

She worked in a doctor’s office and volunteered her time at various organizations in Mexico. She provided daily care for many older family members as she loved to help people.

Mignon became a dedicated wife and homemaker with her marriage to David Metzger “Pops”. They loved to host immediate and extended family and friends with food and fellowship over the years.

She was a devoted mother to her son Paul Patton and his friends growing up in Mexico.   added Nana to her role in 1995 and created many memories baking sugar cookies at Christmas with the grandkids and spending one-on-one time with each of them.  As Trey’s friend Chris once said upon meeting her, “So, you’re the famous Nana.”

Mignon was a three-time cancer survivor. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her as she had a smile that could light up a room with warmth and joy.

She is survived by her husband, David “Pops”; son Paul Patton and his wife Lori and their children Trey (his wife Mallory), Kyle and Reed; grandchildren Lincoln, Quinn and Judah; siblings Dorothy Kehl, Jack Willingham and Lenice Dunlap and many nieces and nephews.

Mignon was preceded in death by her siblings Don Willingham, Richard Willingham and her parents.

A celebration of life will be remembered during her favorite holiday, Thanksgiving.
