MMA soccer wins Moberly Invitational division, Mexico edged out for first in red

Missouri Military Academy became back-to-back champions on Saturday in Moberly. The Colonels won their division outright this time in the Moberly Invitational after going 3-0, defeating Smith-Cotton 1-0 on Friday, Wright City 4-1 and Kirksville 2-1 on Saturday. Alvaro Gonzalez  netted his second hat trick of the season in the victory against Wright City, and the Colonels had goals from Gabriel Rodriguez Sanchez against Smith-Cotton, Jose Elizondo Villarreall against Wright City, and Jose Orozco and Avin Hernandez  against Kirksville.

Mexico finished second in the red division after going 1-0-2, defeating Boonville 4-2 on Friday and then tying both Smith-Cotton JV and Moberly JV at 1 on Saturday. The Bulldogs scored three second-half goals to defeat Boonville for the second time this season and then had Brendan McKewon score from midfield in the draw against Smith-Cotton JV.
