On Tuesday, Jan. 23, at approximately 2:39 p.m., the Mexico Public Safety Department (MPSD) responded to the 100 block of East Jackson in reference to a disturbance. Responding personnel learned that April L Biggs, age 33 of Mexico, was at a business cursing at employees and refusing to leave. When officers arrived, Biggs did leave the business then got into an unlocked, parked vehicle at another business. She refused to exit, claiming the vehicle was hers. Biggs was taken into custody, processed at MPSD, and taken to the Audrain County Jail for Tampering first degree and Resisting Arrest.

Residents are reminded that people arrested or charged with a crime are simply accused of the crime and are to be considered innocent until proven guilty.
