North Callaway loses state-ranked softball matchup in Hallsville on Monday

North Callaway went into Monday's matchup in Hallsville as the ninth-best softball team in Class 2. The Ladybirds faced the Class 3 No. 2 Lady Indians and lost 13-2 in five innings after allowing 10 runs in the first inning and commiting five errors that gave way to nine unearned runs. Three of those errors happening in the first inning to complement Hallsville's 10 hits.

Corynne Miller finished 2-for-3 with a triple in the seventh inning, Megan Schmidt and Faith Cash each had a RBI, and Kymorie Myers walked twice and scored a run. For Hallsville, Abby Leer allowed four hits, three walks and two runs and struck out six in five innings. Marissa Austene hit a three-RBI home run in the first inning, and Brianne Wildenhain and Briley Bower each had two RBI.
