Green Estates Park on the south end of town was closed on Thursday as Parks and Recreation Department crews worked to remove several trees that have been infected by the emerald ash borer beetle. The pest infects ash tree species and has already claimed millions of trees in the United States. Green Estates isn’t the only park in Mexico’s system to be affected. Crews recently removed parts of trees in Hardin Park.
