Paul E. Koelling, 80, of Mexico, passed away at 8:10 a.m. Monday, October 23, 2023, at his home in Mexico.

Funeral services will be at 12 p.m. Saturday October 28, 2023, at Pickering Funeral Home with Elaine Kuntz officiating. Burial will follow in East Lawn Memorial Park.  Visitation will be Saturday from 10 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Paul was born November 9, 1942, in Jefferson City. He was the son of Frank and Virginia (Gordon) Koelling. On May 13, 1967, in Jefferson City, he married Judy Kay Clement who survives at the home.

Paul worked since the age of 17 in the automotive business. For many years he operated Koelling’s Auto Sales. He also had Koelling AAA Towing in the 1970’s. He was the owner of the Moberly Auto Auction and was a partner in the Columbia Auto Auction.

He was a 46 year member of the Mexico Elks Lodge. He attended Midway Christian Church north of Mexico.

In addition to his wife Judy, survivors include one daughter, Delena Haefner (John), of Webster Groves; three grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Frank Koelling; two brothers, Donnie Koelling, and Charles Koelling; and two sisters, Mary Linhardt, and Ann Woods.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Audrain Humane Society or to the Dream Factory. They may be sent in care of Pickering Funeral Home, 403 N. Western, Mexico, MO 65265.
