Ronald “Sy” Shivers of Mexico died Thursday, Nov. 9, 2023. Ronald was born Dec. 24, 1948.
He is survived by one daughter, Elizabeth Jones of Minnesota; five grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Janice Shivers and Sue Long, both of Mexico; Joyce Shivers of Waukegan, Ill., and Sandra Johnson of Mexico; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Minnie Shivers; three brothers, Henry Shivers, Raymond Shivers, and Robert Shivers; one sister, Evelyn Lawson; his grandparents, Lawrence and Polly Exford, Mattie Johnson and Ray Shivers.
Services were held at St. Luke UMC-Columbia, on Sunday, Nov. 19.
