Ronald Wayne O’Donley, 74, passed away at Boone Hospital on November 16, 2023.
On February 27, 1949, Ron was born to the late Clifford Earl Laverne O’Donley and the late Lola Christine (Parker) O’Donley in Mount Vernon IL.
Ron graduated from the University of Missouri and was a member of Alpha Gamma Sigma fraternity. He worked as a farmer and was a founding member of the North Callaway Volunteer Fire Department. In his spare time, you could find him at North Callaway sporting events cheering on his grandkids. He also enjoyed traveling to the east coast to visit his family, reading, and preparing family dinners.
Ron will be lovingly remembered by his daughters, Kellie O’Donley (Dean Spease) and Jennifer O’Donley (Scott Lauher); brother, Clifford O’Donley (Barbara); sisters, Judy Fenley, Kay Smith, and Peggy Crawford; son-in-law, Shane Garrett; honorary son, Steve Bondurant; grandchildren, Emily Fender (Deavon), Cole Sherrow, Lauren Sherrow, Tyler Bondurant, Erica Garrett, Ben Bondurant, Haley Garrett, Lia Bondurant, his first great grandchild due in March, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and daughter, Ashley Garrett.
Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m., on Saturday, November 25, 2023 at Maupin Funeral Home with Pastor Kevin Wilkerson officiating. Friends will be received from 2 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
