National Grandparents Day is Sept. 11 and everyone is invited to celebrate at Scattering Fork Outdoor Center, Mexico.
Scattering Fork will welcome guests Sunday from 2-5 p.m. as parents and grandparents are can bring out their knee high naturalists and friends to explore Scattering Fork’s fall woods.
People will be able to find fall mushrooms- puff balls and chicken of the woods - and many more. They will be able to taste ripening Missouri’s native fruit - the paw paw - and enjoy some freshly baked paw paw cookies.
There will be deer “rubs” on young trees and for those feeling energetic: challenge the Fork’s Earth Ball.
Admission is free; $2 donations are welcome.
