Terry D. Hill

Terry D. Hill of Mexico, Missouri, passed away peacefully on January 5, 2024.

Terry was born on July 7, 1939, in rural Moniteau County, Missouri, the son of Chester G. Hill and M. Jewell (Lachner) Hill, both of whom preceded him in death.  Terry was united in marriage to M. Darlene (Vaughn) Hill on July 27, 1969, in Clarksburg.   She preceded him in death on August 18, 1998.

Terry resided in rural Audrain County for the last 50 years.  He was a graduate of the High Point Elementary School, the California High School, and the University of Missouri-Columbia, graduating with a Master’s degree in Agricultural Mechanization in 1963.

Terry was employed with the Soil Conservation Service of the U.S. Department of Agriculture for more than 50 years serving his last position managing the Audrain, Boone, and Callaway County SCS offices.  In addition to federal employment, Terry maintained farming operations in Audrain and Moniteau counties.

Terry loved to travel and visited many countries in Europe and most of the states in the US, including Hawaii and Alaska.  Terry was an avid collector of Indian artifacts, metal toys, GTO model cars, and mechanical devices.  Of his many hobbies, showing his Pontiac muscle cars locally and across the mid-western United States was his passion.

As per his wishes, a committal graveside service will be held on January 11, 2024 at 11 a.m. in the California City Cemetery conducted by Arnold Funeral Home of Mexico.
