T-Birds take field first time, lose 12-4 at South Callaway

North Callaway was hoping to get on a baseball field to start its season. The Thunderbirds had a rough start to their year with a 12-4 loss at South Callaway on Wednesday, which was a makeup game from one of several postponements already this season.

North Callaway committed six errors that helped South Callaway score in every inning except one and have three batters finish with multiple RBI. The Thunderbirds had an RBI from Braydn O'Neal, Matthew Weber, Davis Woods and Carter Moore.

“It’s awesome to be outside on a baseball field and get out of that stinkin’ gym, that’s for sure,” head coach Zeth Lavy said. “We kind of looked like it was our first outing this year. Routine plays (were an issue). Six official errors and at least two plays I can think of where we had a guy dead out, and we’d either throw it wide or don’t quite make the tag.”
