Van-Far, Missouri Military Academy and Paris spent Monday afternoon in Vandalia.

The schools were three of seven competing in the Van-Far HS Invite and each won came away with medalists. The top four in each event and top three relay teams medaled.

For the host Van-Far, Evan Utterback won the boys shot put, and McKenna Engh-Hoffman won the girls javelin. Erin Childs was second the girls 3200 and fourth in the 1600, Jackson Fischer was third in the boys discus, Trinity Skwirtz was third in the girls 800, Georgia Foster was fourth in the girls 400, and Caleb Hazel was fourth in the boys 800.

For MMA, Alexander McBride won the 200, Tucker Graydon won the pole vault and second in the 400, and the 4x100 and 4x200 relay teams won their events. Ky-Mani Erskine was second in the 100, Kyran Carter was second in the 200 and third in the 100, Ryan Miles was third in the 1600, Jacob Stallone was third in the 3200, Aaron Elford was second in the 110 hurdles, Kennedy Barchigel was fourth in the 300 hurdles, Deonte Kerns was third in the long jump, Eric Bond was second in the shot put, and David Trevino was fourth in the shot put, the 4x400 relay team was second and the 4x800 team was third.

For Paris, Ava Crain won the girls 400 and was second in the 800 and pole vault, Sophia Crusha won the girls 800, Kaylee Johnson won the girls 1600 and was third in the 3200, Alexandra Tullius won the girls 3200 and was third in the 1600, the girls 4x800 relay team was first, and Landen Chapman won the boys 1600 and 3200 and was second in the 800. Khloee Hendren was third in the girls 400, Addie Crain was third in the girls pole vault, the girls 4x400 relay team was second, the girls 4x100 team was third, Hayden DeOrnellas was third in the boys 800, David Elzea was second in the boys 3200, Jackson Davis was third in the boys 300 hurdles, Cayden Poddany was third in the boys high jump and fourth in the triple jump, Sawyer Clements was second in the boys pole vault, the boys 4x800 team was second, and the boys 4x100, 4x200 and 4x400 were each third.

Rowan wins pair of events for third-place Mexico boys in Boonville

Alex Rowan was at the top of the podium multiple times for Mexico boys on Friday.

At Boonville’s McCush Invite, Rowan won the 200-meter dash and was part of the winning 4x200 relay team with Davontae Frame, Tyler Grimes and Taye Potter. The 4x800 and 4x400 relay teams finished second and third, respectively, to help Mexico place third as a team with 86 points.

Andrew Peuster was among the highlight individual finishers by taking third in the 3,200-meter run, with Hunter Bickell behind him in fourth. Titus Grubb was fourth in the pole vault.

Mexico’s Terry second in pole vault at Paris Invitational; Paris wins some at home; CR-6 competes

Alexandra Terry and the Mexico girls had their meet this week in Paris.

While the boys were in Boonville on Friday, the Lady Bulldogs and some of the boys team competed at the Paris Invitational. Alexandra Terry was the star with a second-place pole vault finish and a sixth-place mark in the 200-meter dash, and Guy Fairchild had the best Mexico boys finish in fifth-place for the 300-meter hurdles.

The host Paris won some events, including the girls 4x800 team, Landen Chapman in the boys 1600 and 3200 along with a second-place in the 800, and Colton Kendrick in the boys pole vault. The girls 4x200 relay team was second, Ava Crain was third in the girls 400, Kaleb Romans was second and third in the boys 200 and 100, respectively, and the boys 4x100 team finished third.

The highest finishes for Community R-6 were fifth-place marks for the girls 4x800 relay team and boys 4x100 relay team.

Van-Far’s Skwirtz wins, Community R-6 athletes finish high in Wright City Wildcat Invitational

Trinity Skwirtz gained a victory on Thursday for Van-Far.

Skwirtz won the girls 400 in the Wright City Wildcat Invitational, McKenna Engh-Hoffman also finished first in the girls 100-meter hurdles, and Jackson Fischer was first in the boys javelin. Some Community R-6 athletes earned some high placings, including Nicholas Henke’s second place in the boys 400, Rett Curtis’ third place in the boys discus, Lydia Hoyt’s third place in the girls 200, and Karagen Matich’s third-place in the girls 100-meter hurdles.

Georgia Foster was second for Van-Far in the girls 400, and Ebony Fraction was third in the 100.

The Community girls 4x100 and 4x200 relay teams each finished third.

Paris earns some wins at Westran, Centralia’s Sontheimer throws to second

A day before gaining some victories at home, Paris won some events on Thursday in Huntsville.

In the Westran Invitational, Mairyn Kinnaman won the girls 1600 along with a second-place in the 3200, and Landen Chapman swept the distance races for the boys by winning the 800, 1600 and 3200. Tilmon Sontheimer was second in the boys discus for Centralia.

Ava Crain was second in the girls 400 and pole vault for Paris, and the girls 4x800 relay team also took second.

Peyson Bryson was fourth for the Centralia boys in the high jump.

Centralia wins eight times at home invitational

Centralia made sure to win on its home turf on April 9.

At the Centralia Invitational, the boys and girls combined for eight event victories, including Jameson Cooper in the boys discus, Harper Forshee in the girls javelin, Ryenn Gordon in the girls 100 hurdles, the girls 4x200 relay team, Shelby Lewis in the girls 400, Cayden Dunn in the boys 300 hurdles, Rohan Holiman in the boys 800, and the girls 4x400 relay team.

Taking second was Kassena Ridgel in the girls discus, Josh Russell in the boys discus, the boys 4x800 relay team, Beau Hatton in the boys 110 hurdles, Kenedee Moss in the girls 1600, Holiman in the boys 1600, Lewis in the girls 200, Wesley Robertson in the boys 3200 and Cora King in the girls shot put.

Finishing third were King in the girls discus, Dunn in the boys 110 hurdles, Kaelyn Walters in the girls 100 and long jump, the girls 4x200 relay team and Dryst Bostick in the boys 1600 and 3200.
