Trojan hits sparse vs Rohrer, Pilot Grove in 3-0 loss

For the first time in a while, Community R-6 baseball was in the running for a Central Activities Conference title. The Trojans, however, ran into a locked-in collegiate pitcher in Pilot Grove's Connor Rohrer. On the Tigers' Senior Night, the senior right-hander held Community to three hits while striking out 12 in a 3-0 loss for the Trojans.

College signee Gavin Allen pitched seven innings like Rohrer but allowed seven hits and four walks (two intentional issued to Rohrer) while striking out six.

"Today I felt like I let my kids down," head coach Joel Krato said. "I felt like we weren't prepared to hit that sort of velocity. That was the first time this year where we weren't ready to hit, not ready to compete the way we wanted to."

Community finished 5-2 in CAC play while Pilot Grove won conference with a 7-1 record.
